New art supply

Being an aspiring artist every new art supply gets me excited. Experimenting with new mediums and learning new techniques has always excited me. So, to experiment with a different medium, last week I bought these crayons. Well these are Conte Crayons. These have been used by artists for centuries now being used since 1795.

The ones I bought are four basic ones. These crayons are mostly used for sketching, although some artists use them to make complete drawings. They are best used for studies.

I bought this packet from Flipkart and it was rather cheap. It cost me 120 bucks. Texture wise, they are harder than charcoal. But they blend beautifully when you use the white crayon stick and they are best applied on hard grain paper or cartridge paper. Well, I hope I can use these crayons wisely. I think I might use them for studies and basic sketches. Have you used these crayons before? Do let me know!

  1. It's been a while since I dabbled with colours on a blank canvas.... you bring it back now to me.
